The FRP Devi
A large idol laid up in resin on fibreglass mat, sprayed in NC colours thinned with NC thinner, tins and tape at hand.
How a resin murti is made
Polyester resin mixed with marble powder and pigment, cured with hardener and accelerator and cast in a mould, or laid up on fibreglass mat for large idols. Then trimmed, sprayed in NC lacquers and sealed under a PU or TT clear coat. Murti Kala supplies every material in that list to workshops in Meerut, Sardhana and across western UP.
Questions murti makers ask
Which resin is used to make murtis?
Unsaturated polyester resin, mixed with marble powder and pigment for marble-look murtis, or laid up on fibreglass mat for large FRP idols. We stock grades 245 and C17.
Do you sell to murti workshops in bulk?
Yes, Murti Kala is a trade store: resin by the drum, lacquers and thinners by the 4 and 20 litre pack. Send your list for a trade price.
Why are there no prices on the site?
Resin and solvent prices change with the makers' rates, and trade prices depend on quantity. Ask for a quote and we reply the same day.
Where are your shops?
In Meerut, on Baghpat Road near the Malyana Fly Over, and in Sardhana. WhatsApp 80774 53675.
NC or PU: which finish should I use?
NC lacquers dry fast and are used for the colours; a PU clear coat over them is harder and glossier and lasts longer outdoors and in handling.
